FX Pearl Shimmer Resene Pearl Shimmer is always used in conjunction with a basecoat tinted to a selected colour. The choice of basecoat will depend on whether it is an interior or exterior application. Resene Pearl Shimmer may be applied over a wide variety of substrates, including trim and joinery, offering the user an almost infinite selection of colours. The most accentuated pearlescent effect will be achieved in combination with a textured basecoat, a well-planned lighting scheme and/or a curved surface. As the final appearance will vary depending on the basecoat colour and method of application, always test and confirm a sample panel before completing the full project. Typical uses: Architraves, bathrooms, cementitious surfaces, furniture, kitchens, laundries, paperfaced plasterboard (GIB®, Gyprock®), plywood, skirtings, timber doors, wallboards, window frames. |

SpaceCote Flat Fly Deterrent Musca domestica, the housefly, is a well known cosmopolitan pest responsible for transporting disease carrying organisms and damaging surfaces. When resting, adults regurgitate a liquid that results in spots on the surface combined with other darker spots, both of which can be difficult to remove without damaging the paint surface. The flies are inactive at night and tend to congregate on ceiling areas. The less flies sit, the fewer and smaller the fly spotting. Resene SpaceCote Flat Fly Deterrent combines all the benefits and performance of Resene SpaceCote with the added bonus of reduced fly spotting. Available exclusively from Resene in white and a wide range of colours off white. Typical uses: Architraves, ceilings, plywood, skirtings, wallboards, window frames. |

Resene Clearcoat UVS Resene Clearcoat UVS is based on a unique acrylic-urethane for ease of application and maximum life over painted surfaces. To help protect exterior painted surfaces from colour fade, Resene Clearcoat UVS is formulated with UV absorbers to filter out harmful UV light, protecting the underlying coloured coat. Ideally suited for direct application to freshly painted bright organic hues and shades to aid colour retention by protecting these more vulnerable pigments against fading. While Resene Clearcoat UVS is not designed for use on working joinery, such as windows and doors, as it is a waterborne finish, its outstanding flexibility over timber makes it suitable for use on weatherboards. It has excellent adhesion to Resene topcoats and can be easily overcoated at a later date with other Resene waterborne paints. This product has replaced Resene Sun Defier. While Resene Clearcoat UVS is the ideal product to protect against colour fade, if the colour chosen is prone to chalking rather than fading, Resene Concrete Clear is the recommended product to use. Typical uses: All exterior waterborne acrylic coated surfaces except working joinery. |

Resene Colorwood All colours can be intermixed, allowing you to create your own colours – always keep a note of any intermix recipes so you can recreate them if you need more. The finished colour is influenced by the timber colour itself, the denseness of the timber and the length of time the stain is left before the excess is wiped off. Always test Resene Colorwood on a small off-cut of timber to ensure the desired colour is being achieved. Strong colours may be difficult to achieve on hardwood and heart timbers due to lack of penetration. If the selected colour is too strong, reduce with Resene Colorwood Reducing Base. Resene Colorwood is very easy to apply by brush or rag. For best results, wipe excess Resene Colorwood off with a dry, absorbent, lint free cloth, rubbing along the grain. This also ensures maximum adhesion of topcoats. Overcoating is recommended to ensure the timber is protected and to maximise the longevity of the finish. Resene Colorwood is easily overcoated with Resene Aquaclear, Resene Qristal ClearFloor 1K, Resene Qristal Polyurethanes or Resene Polythane. Typical uses: Canework, cork, doors, dressed and rough sawn timber, fibre and particle board, furniture, kitset and nursery furniture, panelling, rope, timber (imported and native), timber ceilings and beams, window and door frames. |

Resene Waterborne Woodsman Designed for exterior timber in a wide range of colours. Resene does not recommend clear stains on exterior timber as it does not provide sufficient protection for the timber against the weather. Decorators will enjoy the quick and easy water clean up and the absence of the solvent fumes and VOCs associated with traditional solventborne stains. Easy to apply with minimal surface preparation required. Formulated with powerful fungicides for improved mould resistance. Stains are transparent, so the final finish colour will depend on the nature of the timber being stained. Stains applied to light woods will appear much stronger and brighter in colour than stains applied to dark wood. As with any finishing project – regardless of the products being used – always go through the entire finishing process using scraps from the project before committing to the colour. Preferred colours can be easily tested on a representative piece of wood using Resene Waterborne Woodsman testpots. Typical uses: Beams, fences, plywood and profiled sheets, timber - dressed and rough sawn, weatherboards. New formula version can be used on exterior wooden furniture. |

Resene Waterborne Woodsman CoolColour™ Like pigmented CoolColour hues, Resene Waterborne Woodsman CoolColour finishes retain their normal visible colour but reflect heat from the surface, reducing stress on the coating and substrate and subsequent heat related damage improving the longevity of each. The technology also minimises build up of unwanted heat in the building reducing airconditioning and cooling costs. In short, the colour looks the same as normal but reflects much more heat than normal so doesn't get as hot as the standard colour would. Those who remember the introduction of the then new Cricket NZ black shirts will remember discussions of the new technology that stopped the shirts absorbing the heat a black shirt normally would, a heat that would be unbearable for cricket players. Resene CoolColour paint technology works on a similar premise, but instead of protecting cricketer's backs Resene CoolColour technology protects houses and buildings instead. Resene CoolColour technology is generally best suited to colours that have black in their make-up as these tend to absorb the most heat. Typical uses: Beams, fences, plywood and profiled sheets, timber - dressed and rough sawn, weatherboards. New formula version can be used on exterior wooden furniture. |

Resene Aquapel The product is ideal as a clear finish over concrete to maintain the natural appearance while still providing it with some protection against the elements and slowing down the growth of mould, lichen and the like as these organisms will find it more difficult to grow on the coated surface than on an uncoated one. Typical uses: Most porous building materials. May be used in multiple coats to keep concrete in its natural state looking good for longer by minimising the opportunity for moss, mould and lichen growths, brick, concrete block, fibrous cement, poured concrete, tilt slab, timber. |

Sandtex The time-worn strength of sandstone with the mellow patina of age has been recreated in Resene Sandtex. Perfect for beautifying and protecting concrete, this very versatile finish can be used to reproduce a variety of finishes from aged render effects through to natural limestone and sandstone finishes. The fine sandstone texture adds an extra dimension to the coating and effectively disguises minor surface blemishes without changing the basic architectural concept. The combination of strong colour and texture can transform an ordinary surface into an architectural feature, making it a very popular choice for feature walls. Resene Sandtex may be applied by roller, spray or brush. A popular brush application method is to crows foot the coating, applying it by wide brush in a criss cross pattern to give a tactile brushed Mediterranean look. Use Resene Sandtex with a basecoat of Resene Lumbersider tinted to the Resene Sandtex topcoat colour to ensure uniformity of the finish. Some applicators may find it easier to apply a fine coat of Resene Sandtex so that the subsequent coat of Resene Sandtex will have something to grip onto. An excellent basecoat for Paint Effects Medium as the texture adds an extra dimension to the effect. Resene Sandtex also provides an ideal basecoat for creating Mediterranean style effects. The texture in Resene Sandtex adds an extra dimension to the paint effect. Its effect is not dissimilar to traditional limewashes or cement based paints. Typical uses: Block and brickwork, concrete, fibre cement, G.R.C. panels, monolithic building systems, primed galvanised steel, solid plaster, wallboards. |

Resene X-200 is a popular choice for refurbishments in areas prone to earthquakes and for concrete buildings nationwide. It may be used on its own or under Resene textures such as Resene Resitex or Resene Sandtex. It is perfect on concrete, blockwork, fibre cement sheeting and solid plaster, where weathertightness is required. Resene X-200 may be brushed into small cracks (less than 1mm) to prevent moisture entering the damaged substrate. For cracks 1-2mm use Resene Brushable Crack Filler or a suitable sealant. Resene X-200 has a low sheen, slightly textured finish, in keeping with current trends for lower gloss finishes. It is easily applied and has excellent durability. Typical uses: Concrete blocks, concrete surfaces, fibre reinforced cement. |

Crown roof paints are designed to give a quick drying, durable, high-gloss finish on new primed or previously painted roofs. Good surface preparation is critical to maximise the life of your roof paint system. Clean down all surfaces using Resene Roof and Metal Wash, a concentrated pre-treatment for all new and old unpainted galvanised roofing and a general cleaner for previously painted surfaces including roofing. Wash down with a copious amount of freshwater. Prime the substrate using:
Use Resene Membrane Roofing Primer for all sheet rubber roofing systems and bituminous surfaces. Handy tip: A good rule-of-thumb for calculating the quantity of roof paint required is: your project's footprint area plus about 40% (allows for roof pitch, corrugations, soffit overhang, etc). Trough section roofing can require significantly more. Typically a complete roof paint system requires surface preparation using Resene Roof Wash and Paint Cleaner, one coat of primer and two coats of topcoat at the recommended coverage rate on the cans. |
