Resene Woodsman colour range

Resene Waterborne Woodsman is an exterior wood stain designed to colour timber, while still allowing the natural grain of the timber to show through. It is the perfect way to add colour to new or previously stained timber without losing its natural beauty.

Resene has embraced the current trend towards non-traditional wood stain finishes, now offering a new range of exterior wood stain colours in traditional, limed and bright hues. Choose from Totem Pole red, Embers orange, Rangitoto green or perhaps the more traditional Cedar wood finish.

Stains are transparent, therefore the final finish colour will depend on the nature of the timber being stained. Stains applied to light woods will appear much stronger and brighter in colour than stains applied to dark wood.

As with any finishing project - regardless of the products being used - always go through the entire finishing process using scraps from the project before committing to the colour. Preferred colours can be easily tested on a representative piece of wood using Resene Waterborne Woodsman testpots. You can order Resene Waterborne Woodsman testpots online.

Wood stain colours will look different depending on the timber they are applied to. If you are choosing a paint colour for adjacent areas, sometimes it can be better to choose a contrasting colour than trying to get an exact match in paint.
