Instructions

Make your own terracotta chandelier - Step 1 Step 1
Take your chandelier and remove the light shades, then strip out the electrical wires and remove the light bulb holders.

Make your own terracotta chandelier - Step 2 Step 2
Paint the chandelier with a coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer.

Make your own terracotta chandelier - Step 3 Step 3
Seal the pots and saucers with Resene Aquapel & Terracotta Sealer and once dry, use industrial adhesive to glue the saucers to the lamp plates on the chandelier.

Make your own terracotta chandelier - Step 4 Step 4
Paint the chandelier and pots with two or three coats of Resene Meteor, allowing for the first coat to dry before applying the second coat. Fleur didn’t paint the middle of the saucers or the bottom of the pots so she could give the adhesive the best chance of adhering.

Make your own terracotta chandelier - Step 5 Step 5
Glue the pots to the saucers. Make sure you only use a few dabs of glue rather than a continuous bead of glue around the bottom of the pots. This way the water can drain out and away from the pot.

Make your own terracotta chandelier - Step 6 Step 6
Leave the adhesive to dry overnight and then fill your pots with your favourite flowering plant. Enjoy!

Top tip:  Use a palette of three related colours to add a little extra colour, such as Resene Adrenalin (orange), Resene Turbo (yellow) and Resene Smitten (pink) then plant flowers in each to suit the each planter’s colour.
