Instructions

Step 1:  Start by painting the lightshade with Resene Blackjack in 1-2 coats ensuring that it covers well.

Step 2:  Lay down a drop cloth/newsprint paper/newspaper to catch the drips. Prop the lightshade up so that the bottom rim isn’t sitting on the paper. Fleur used a paint tin, but a tall cup or an upturned plastic plant pot would work fine too.

Step 3:  Use a teaspoon to drizzle on some Resene Zuccini. Experiment with putting on lots of paint and little amounts of paint and see how far it will run down the shade.

Step 4:  Repeat this process by adding on the next four colours; Resene Rain Forest, Resene Mandalay, Resene Hawaiian Tan and Resene Old Brick.

Step 5:  Leave the shade to finish dripping and dry. Usually this is best left overnight.

Top tip:  If you have a range of leftover Resene paints from your decorating project, you can use these for your paint pouring project. Or use up any leftover Resene testpots you may have.
