DIY hutch dresser

Step 1
Start by removing all the drawers, cupboards and the back board from the upper glass cabinet. Fleur took off all the hinges and handles so that it made painting with a roller much easier. Give everything a sand with a 60-80 grit sandpaper and then wipe the dust away with a clean cloth/rag.

Step 2
Prime the dresser with one coat of Resene Quick Dry. Once this is dry, give it a light sand with a fine grit sandpaper and then wipe away the dust.

Step 3
Use Resene Middle Earth to paint the dresser. Apply two coats with a small microfibre roller, allowing for the first coat to dry before applying the second coat. For painting around glass, use painters tape to tape off the glass to speed the painting process up.

Step 4
Wallpaper the back board. Your local Resene ColorShop stocks a variety of wallpaper pastes and they can help you select the right paste for your wallpaper.

Step 5
Fleur left the paintwork to cure and harden over a couple of days before reattaching the hinges and doors and attaching new knobs. Re-attach the back board. Wall in Resene Indian Ink.
