This older home in Elizabeth Bay is enlivened with colours from Resene.
There's no rule that says you must follow convention when choosing paint colours for a traditional home. Sometimes the opposite works – an unpredictable palette can provide the wow factor.
This home in Elizabeth Bay was given a facelift by designer Terry Hogg of Lick Light + Colour. And the change is evident right from the entry, which is a cocoon of pure Resene Scarlett. This is contrasted with a custom-mixed white from Resene that provides the perfect backdrop for the owners' extensive art collection.
The pièce de résistance in the living area is the lively blue ceiling that frames a white plaster ceiling rose and dark Murano glass chandelier. This is painted in Resene Decadence. Two other bold shades are Resene Troubadour, a vibrant mauve, and Resene Desperado, a cowboy brown that features behind the mantelpiece.
The master bedroom is painted in Resene Oilskin, which imparts a rich masculine ambience. And the guest room is enveloped in the luxurious dark grey of Resene Cliffhanger.
Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen, a water-borne enamel, provides a tough durable finish on walls. It is complemented by Resene Lustacryl semi-gloss waterborne enamel on trim and joinery.
