From habitat highlights - issue 40, MasterStroke DIY
Build a versatile privacy screen for a stylish, functional back garden.
Versatile furniture like this moveable privacy screen, made by artist and expert DIYer Jae Frew, lets you customise your outdoor area depending on the season or weather. Jae has crafted this screen from timber and given it a dark finish by staining it with Resene Waterborne Woodsman penetrating oil stain in Resene Pitch Black, which also provides an eye-catching contrast to the vibrant green of the plants and garden.
The screen is anchored by a sturdy base, which ensures it's well-balanced and won't topple over, plus it has castors for shifting easily.
As well as offering privacy it provides a moveable shade screen during sunny days, protection from the wind and can be stored when not required. Handy hooks offer all kinds of practical uses such as hanging BBQ tools, or robes and towels near a pool.
