Colour: Resene Maestro
My design uses Resene’s colour Maestro. Maestro means master, a conductor of music, it is also a name given to a distinguished figure.
In her travels Anahera visits New York City. I have always loved New York City and am especially drawn to its magnificent skyline. I noticed many triangular and curved shapes in the iconic architecture of New York, such as the Chrysler building. The Chrysler building is a distinguished figure in the New York skyline, it is the maestro of the city.
The triangular form and curves of the Chrysler building caught my attention and inspired my design for the Resene Colour project.
When designing this outfit I wanted it to reflect the triangular form. Creating a flattering silhouette, by starting wider at the legs and tapering off to a smaller waist and then to a point at the neckline. For the cape I wanted it to reflect the curves of the Chrysler by having a rounded shape over the shoulders and a swirling manipulation of the fabric on the back. The combination of the two shapes complement each other and create a distinguished figure.
