Manukau mako

The Ross family have just renovated their kitchen, changing it from 70s brown on brown to a colour scheme using Resene colours, Resene Alabaster and Resene Mako. Resene Alabaster features on three walls, with Resene Double Alabaster on gloss lacquered cabinetry to lighten up the south facing room. Resene Mako, on one wall, was chosen to bring the outdoors in. They live overlooking the Manukau Harbour and wanted to bring the outside colours inside to connect with the view. They also continued with Resene Mako on the same plane to the outside wall.

Manukau colours are very beautiful. They are changeable and have infinite variety and depth depending on time of day, season and weather. Everything from sandbanks and sky, mussel beds, rock, moving seawater and coastal cliffs form a kaleidoscope of colour. Resene Mako works perfectly because it has greys, greens and blues that show through, again depending on conditions. LED's and pendant lighting mean the decor looks magic at night.
