Resene PaintsFunky nursery
How do you create a room that is completely different and funky with mostly neutral colours? Simple: first you spend months looking for inspiration and brainstorming different ideas. Then you spend an hour and a half at your local Resene ColorShop picking the perfect four ‘greys' (Resene Pravda, Resene Half Pravda, Resene Half Napa, Resene Eighth Napa) to complement the very vibrant Resene Fireball, Next you spend many more hours designing how each colour and shape could best fit onto each wall. Following that you take 150 metres of masking tape, two spirit levels and a chalkline, and paint, paint, PAINT!

The window trims, scotias and skirting were finished in Resene Masala and plain Resene white was used between each painted box area.

This room designed for Tia and Brett's baby June was a labour of love - but well worth the effort. They have ended up with a room that makes their whole family smile. The idea of challenging themselves to use ‘neutrals' to create something really funky came about from their love of bright colours, mixed with the sensibility to know that too much of one thing can often be too much!
