Once a wreckThe Neiman family purchased their 1910 -20s cottage as a wreck in May 2000. Keen DIY'ers they employed builders who made changes and additions sympathetic to the character of the cottage. A new wardrobe was built in the master bedroom and the ceiling and walls were replastered and painted in Resene Lucky Point. The tongue and groove in the bathroom was replaced with a plastered finish on ceiling and walls then painted in Resene Supernova and tiled with a matching tiled floor. The kitchen was treated to a fresh lick of paint with blue on benchtops and dark grey on doors. With the exception of the dining room and kitchen, voile window treatments with separate linings adorn the many windows in hues to match each room. Only the finishing touches remain to be done - even without these, the little wreck has been reinvented with the wow factor.
