Background to mural creation:
In a theme befitting an Auckland School, Massey High School is now home to a mural based on the theme of Auckland, City of Sails. A trio of students - Flora Ko, Piers Gross and Hikurangi S Kaa joined together to decorate an area prone to tagging and to beautify the school. The area is used heavily by students waiting for buses and the general public entering the school.

The work wholly finished in Resene Lumbersider was originally designed by Year 10 students and the painting was completed by Year 12 art students after their course work was complete. Rachael Bebbington supervised the painting from designs from Burnadette Stockman's classes.
