Oliver Walker – Aardvark Images
Oliver was always doing art and winning competitions from his early primary school days. He started painting traditional silk hangings with his mother in 1988 and then began tutoring the same year in her studio and doing live demonstrations and workshops from then on. He began working on a larger commercial scale from 1993 onwards and the business has continued to grow to its current size.

At Aaardvark Images Oliver and the team provide a vast range of services from murals, commercial painting, signs, interior design, illustration and design, graffiti, custom clothing and vehicles, workshops - basically if you can apply paint to it they can make it pop! "We draw our inspiration for our art from real people like ourselves and real life experiences. Our personal art reflects an experience or opinion often tribal, grass roots and emotionally driven. Our personal art is quite different from our commercial art. Our commercial art is the client’s concept as we aim to satisfy their needs first and foremost. We have the largest mural installations in Queensland under our belt, there is no job too small or large for us. Aardvark Images have artists in every state and all over California too – everyone from airbrush artists, graffiti artists, sign pro's, shopfitters, interior decorators to a vast range of other visual specialists."

Once a lead artist at QR, Oliver turned his hand to running his own business. Oliver’s team use Resene in every mural where they are using decorative paints, often pumping it through the Graco, HVLP and airbrush. As Oliver comments “It's so smooth!” “What drew me to Resene was the fact that it covers so well and the pigments are so bright, not to mention the colour selection is so huge. With the massive colour selection Resene now has I can match the colour I want better than a computer match with a slight tint to any Resene colour whether it be a touch of white, black or primary. I let it dry on the existing colour and only have to tint two or three times maximum to achieve the exact colour match. We are very big fans of Resene Tree Frog, Resene Jeepers Creepers, and Resene Daredevil.”

And the work doesn’t stop there, one job alone required 8800 square metres covered in Resene Ebony Clay. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg of the impressive projects that Aardvark Images tackle every year.
