Resene Good To Go

“Resene Good To Go is a fresh, vibrant green. The name evokes the idea of being on the move ‘ready to fly’. While researching the New Zealand natural environment. I was inspired by Aotearoa New Zealand’s smallest, high energy bird, the Rifleman ‘Titipounamu’.

Titipounamu are endemic (native) birds. While their conservation status is currently ‘not threatened’, they are one of our two surviving species in the NZ wren family. Titipounamu can be found in pest free sanctuaries such as Tiritiri Matangi (Auckland) and Zealandia (Wellington). In 1029, 60 rifleman were relocated from Wainuiomata Mainland Island to Zealandia. This was to provide a safe breeding space for the birds to grow their population. Recently, Titipounamu from Zealandia have established themselves in Te Ahumairangi Hill which is approx. 2.4km away. This is a positive sign showing the natural environment is suitable, predator levels are low and the birds are ‘good to go’.”
