Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: 12mm chrome screw eye, Clean cloth, Chrome square hook, Drill with 4mm drill bit, Paintbrush, Resene Lusta-Glo tinted to Resene Melting Moment, Resene Quick Dry, Resene Rust-Arrest, Resene Thinner No 10, Sandpaper, Saw, Square hook, Suitable container for washing brush

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat tinted to Resene Smokescreen.

How to make a wine glass holder

 
Step oneStep one
Cut off the rake handle with a saw, leaving a 50mm section of wood on the rake head.
Step twoStep two
Smooth the rough sawn edge and lightly sand the rake head to remove any light rust and ‘key’ the surface of the metal.
Step threeStep three
Wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.
Step fourStep four
Apply one coat of Resene Rust-Arrest to the metal rake head, allowing 24 hours to dry. Wash brush in Resene Thinner No 10.
Step 5Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the section of wooden handle and allow two hours to dry.
Step sixStep six
Apply one coat of Resene Melting Moment to the wine holder and allow 16 hours to dry. Apply a second coat of Resene Melting Moment and allow to dry. Wash brush in Resene Thinner No 10.
Step eightStep seven
Drill a 4mm pilot hole in the end of wooden section.
Step nineStep eight
Screw in a 12mm chrome screw eye, as shown, and fix a chrome square hook into the wall for hanging.

Other ideas: For a rich red-wine look, paint the wine holder with Resene Shiraz.
