Clean sponges or rags for applying paint – one for each colour
Resene Quick Dry Primer Undercoat
Resene testpots in Resene Half Moonbeam, Resene Escape, Resene Unwind, Resene Turkish Delight, Resene Pink Lace and Resene Black White and a testpot brush

How to make a pin board:

Step one
Clean and check your item in case any repairs are needed. Make sure you clean off any dust that could affect your paint application.

Once clean, apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry Primer undercoat to the frame and the fabric pin board surface (if needed). Sarah primed the fabric too was because it was a dark colour, and she wanted to cover this completely before applying her chosen Resene colours on top.

Step two
Once the primer undercoat is completely dry, start tipping small amounts if your chosen testpot colours directly onto the pin board fabric. The idea is to end up with a blotchy watercolour effect at the end, so you will blend the colours into one another slightly. Sarah chose the following Resene testpot colours: Resene Half Moonbeam, Resene Unwind, Resene Turkish Delight or Resene Pink Lace.

Step three
Using a clean cloth or sponge pieces, dab and blend the colours onto the fabric to get the desired watercolour effect. Sarah applied a lot of paint to get a good thick application of each colour. Let the colours dry.

Step four
Paint the frame in your chosen colour. Sarah chose Resene Black White as there were already so many colours on the pin board.

Finish up by hanging it on your wall and pinning all your favourite photos, notes and reminders on. Even when the board empties, it will still look gorgeous!
