inside and out

This architectural built home in the late 1960s features many internal elements clients are now designing into current contemporary homes.

The exterior colour palette needed a complete overhaul. The weatherboards were in need of extensive prep work to return them to their original beauty, before being painted in Resene Lumbersider low sheen waterborne paint in Resene Concrete. All joinery was replaced with aluminium double glazing for warmth and the stunning contrast of matt black. Resene Summit Roof in Resene All Black was chosen for the fascia and roof to match these two elements as one.

Light and airy kitchen

Resene Lumbersider low sheen waterborne paint in Resene Double Foundry was chosen for the lower level to work in harmony to not only balance the spatial aspects of the home but to complement the new contemporary joinery and to help disguise the texture of the original block.

The tired exterior is now transformed to a contemporary appearance, with a palette that balances the line and form of materials.

The interior was also treated to some fresh touches of colour.

Hallways are often dark areas that are used primarily for function. Emphasising this depth, Resene Zylone Sheen in Resene Baltic Sea gives this hallway a perfect balance of interest and depth to the backdrop of colours in the kimono.

The office needed a lighter treatment in keeping with the interior design business run from within. Situated on the lower level, it tended to be cool in the morning. The new colour needed to provide the illusion of warmth and create a soft light at all times of the day. With Karen Walker Paint palettes a firm favourite, it was only natural to turn to that collection for just the right colour. Resene Blanched Pink is a sophisticated pink that adds a stunning depth to the office that creates feelings of inspiration and calm.
