with Resene Timber and Furniture Gel
These old teak folding chairs were very well weathered and in need of a refresh.
The owner has sanded the worst affected areas before applying a coat of Resene TimberLock and two coats of Resene Timber and Furniture Gel in Resene Kwila.
The greyed timber benefited from the coat of TimberLock first for the following reasons:
It has conditioned the timber, solidifying and reinforcing the timber fibres (rather like Resene Sureseal does for old plaster).
It has reduced the need to sand the surface. While it is always best to sand, Resene TimberLock reduces the amount required and is useful for hard to sand areas like the slats in these chairs.
It helps protect the timber from UV attack, effectively bolstering the Resene Timber and Furniture Gel topcoats.
The Resene Timber and Furniture Gel will help protect the timber while adding colour and aesthetic appeal to the furniture.
