Four ways with kids artwork

Create a display board, scrapbook, wall of fame and colourful gift packs from childrens' art works.

4 ways using your child's art works

Create a display board
You will need: A large frame ( make with architraves from a hardware store, or buy a second hand frame and remove the picture, chicken wire, upholstery staple gun, felt, hot glue gun and pegs.

  1. Cut the chicken wire to fit inside the frame and staple in place.
  2. Cut felt into squares and glue on to the back of the frame to protect the walls from the wire.
  3. Hang on the wall and use pegs to attach art work.

Make your own art scrapbook
The thing about displaying your children's art work is that as soon as you get it organised more comes in. Try taking a photograph of your child with their magnificent creations at the end of each year or term, then display it in a scrapbook. Its a great record of what they have made, while making room for more.

Make your own wall of fame
You will need: Clipboards, blackboard paint, brushes and chalk.

  1. Paint clipboards with Resene Blackboard paint, allow to dry, then add another coat.
  2. Use chalk to draw a border around each clipboard, then hang on the wall.
  3. Add more art as it arrives home.
  4. This is also a good way to display school notices.

Make colourful gift packs
You will need: Turning your children's art work into wrapping paper is a special way to personalise your gifts - and recycle! Grandma will just love it. The gift bags would make great goodie bags for a party.
