It is impossible to cover all decorating scenarios in a single document, so if you are in doubt about any aspect of your project please contact Resene for assistance.

How to paint stucco, render, plaster, in-situ concrete and fibre cement

Note: Refer to the PDF flowchart for a visual of the steps below:

  1. Refer to appropriate preparation chart

  2. Is waterproofing an issue?

    1. If No:
      1. Apply 2 coats of Resene Sonyx 101 or Resene Lumbersider
      2. Alternatively, if the area is a small element of the house and there is no colour change - use the same waterborne system as the body of the house, such as Resene Hi-Glo
      3. Alternatively use Resene AquaShield for a classic Mediterranean look or Resene Sandtex Superfine
    2. If Yes:
      1. Apply 2 coats of Resene X-200
