Painting in winter can be challenging with the cold temperatures and humidity from wet weather slowing drying time and potentially affecting the finish. The tech experts at Resene have a solution – Resene Wintergrade paints and Resene Wintergrade Additive designed to dry in temperatures down to 3°C. The Resene Technical team first developed a small range of winterised products that will dry in temperatures down to 3°C, which have been used in winter conditions for over 10 years.
To make it even easier to choose a wintergrade finish, Resene offer Resene Wintergrade Additive, which you can add to a range of selected waterborne Resene paints to winterise them. This will enable you to achieve a wintergrade finish in a wider range of products and colours. Resene Wintergrade paints are available from April to August from Resene ColorShops. The new colour additions to the Godfrey Hirst Carpets ‘Enchant' family were developed during lockdown. These include Olive Leaf (a greyed green), Cinder (a dark, yellow-influenced grey) and Mallard (an olive green, shown above). Mallard was inspired by New Zealand's lush vegetation, and Resene Scrub was a great starting point. A usable and versatile green, Mallard provides a feeling of nurturing as well as being a comforting and cocooning colour. It's an ideal alternative to conventional neutrals and will work well with native timber flooring and both light and dark coloured walls. Find out more at www.godfreyhirst.com.
Resene Black White once again takes the crown as the most popular colour while three other strengths of the classic hue also made the cut in this year's Resene top 20. While the top 20 may be whites and neutrals, Resene has curated a whole spectrum of other popular colours to choose from broken down into collections of top reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, purples and browns. Each page includes helpful links where you can learn more about decorating with that colour from the handy habitat plus books. You can also ‘search by colour' on the habitat by Resene website, where you'll find a whole host of project stories where you can see what the hue looks like in use.
