Run-away success

Thank you so much for the wallpaper that we used for the house and garden tour. Everyone was so impressed with the result. Ingrid from Scent Flowers and I have created a whole host of settings using Resene wallpaper as the table runner.

Stretched but not broken

How may we help you? I have always been a Resene person so felt you needed to know how well the paint in our bedrooms has stood up to the September earthquake. There are cracks all round the interior walls but the paint has stretched and held the cracks neat with tear marks below where the ceiling and walls join. It’s amazing to look at and testament to the elasticity of Resene paint. If you needed any more advertising there it is!
Barbara Byers, Christchurch, our winning letter

It’s a what?

In all its Resene metallic paint glory and on display at the Resene ColorShop in Oamaru is The Dr Pulvermachers Patented Intergalactic Promulgation & Transmorgification Device. And if you’re not quite sure what that is, the folk at www.steampunknz.co.nz will be able to explain. It was part of their exhibition last year.

One for the road

A customer got creative with some Resene Summit Roof paint and decided to paint his Mazda ute in it, tinted to Resene Ironsand. Bryan Newman, Resene Blenheim In the pink I took a photo of my 10-month-old daughter Tayla the other day and thought it would be an awesome picture for Resene.

Paintlift anyone?

You can make yourself look years younger, without a facelift, simply by choosing the right colour and ideally painting in a semi-gloss or gloss.

Yellows bring out the best in blondes, brunettes look good with pink walls while skin tones, peaches, apricots and lavenders are said to make all of us look good.

Focus on your best feature and pick a colour to complement. If you have striking blue eyes, then try a feature wall of blue. The concept extends to furniture and accessories, too. A heavy damask fabric on a Queen Anne sofa will instantly age you whereas a big white canvas couch with denim cushions will emphasise your youth.

The best place to start is to think about the colours you wear and what suits you best and apply the same colour combinations to your walls.
