If life gives you lemons – make lemonade is Harald's philosophy.
When Harald and his wife purchased their home, it came with a brand new dark grey kitchen… an ugly duckling which needed to grow into a beautiful swan. Of course, their budget was tied – who's isn't after buying a home in Auckland – so they couldn't afford a new kitchen.
Instead they decided to paint the cabinets fronts to achieve a more cheerful look. The problem was that some doors had glass fronts and would have been either very labour intensive to mask off the glass or simply impossible!
A creative solution was needed to incorporate the glass fronted grey doors with the rest of the kitchen. Harald came up with the idea to draw a kitchen appropriate design on top of the grey to make the transition from grey to blue as if it was intended to have two tone units.
This was a stroke of brilliance. Even the appliances like the stainless steel stove and fridge now give it a very cohesive look. The entire family love their old new kitchen.
Harald was surprised how easy the process was and how durable and easy to clean the surface is. The cabinets were painted in Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer then Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen Kitchen & Bathroom in Resene Opal.
Thanks to Harald.
