Golden glow

Deep golds and ochres are a colour of the moment, popping up in accessories, bedlinen and even on whole walls.

Warm, excitable colours are sometimes not recommended for bedrooms as they may discourage sleep, but the rich tones of Resene Cleopatra has enough earthiness to give it a calming, cocooning edge.

When dealing with a strong colours such as this, keep other elements in the room less colourful and more graphic. Black and white provide a crisp counterpoint to the gold in the striped bedside table, painted in Resene Poured Milk and Resene Charcoal, and the bedlinen. The lamp base is finished in Resene Colorwood Whitewash and staying with the monochromatic look, the floorboards are finished in Resene Colorwood Mid Greywash.
