Transform natural and recycled objects into a beautiful array of decorations to dress your table.

Table decorations with metallic paint effects

You will need

Collect dry seed pods, pinecones, wooden clothes pegs and empty glass bottles in an array of shapes. Ensure the objects are clean and dry before painting in colours of your choice using the Resene Metallics and Special Effects range. The shimmery and pearlescent paint finishes can transform virtually any surface. Cover objects by either brushing or dipping them in paint. (Use ice cream containers for larger items such as pine cones.)

Paint the outside of the bottles or pour a little paint inside and roll round to cover. Experiment with other wooden objects. (We made a giant silver candlestick using a spare wooden lid and a broken, oversized wooden pepper grinder, glued together and painted using 1 litre Resene Enamacryl Metallic in Resene Pewter.
