Spice it up

From emerge magazine - issue 01, pick your palette

Deep, spicy reds bring warmth and drama, especially when paired with rich wood tones and other warm toned décor.

This bold yet inviting palette creates a sense of depth and sophistication, perfect for adding character to a space. Whether through statement walls, textured fabrics or layered accessories, these hues evoke a sense of richness and comfort.

These neutral walls are painted in Resene Thorndon Cream, floor stained in Resene Colorwood Bark, small (white) vase painted in Resene Alabaster and pot (far right) in Resene Pioneer Red. Cabinet and coffee table from Mocka, rug, sofa and artwork from Danske Møbler, light from Lighting Direct, side table, glass, candle, vases, throw and cushion from A&C Homestore, books from Tessuti.

top tip  For a lustrous finish on furniture or trim, use Resene Enamacryl, a high-gloss waterborne enamel that pairs well with deep reds and wooden elements. Or to highlight already painted walls, apply Resene Concrete Clear gloss to raise the sheen.
