b'editorialwelcomeI t doesnt seem right to stick to just the one colour when Resenehasdesignedsomanydeliciousandexciting shades over the years. Sure, one colour is easy, and safe. But lets rebel a little against the less is more maxim, and splash it about a bit. Take our cover, for example, which shows an easy-to-achieve but striking look using tonal stripes. See page 8 for more examples of how you can use a selection of colours (even neutrals) to good effect. Creating a palette of colours is an exhilarating process with inspiration coming from many sources. Perhaps its a painting, as with the purple kitchen owners on page 64. Or the environment, as with the architect-designed award-winner on page 40. Or from a feeling of nostalgia, as with the home on page 18. This issue, we also asked various interior designers from different places to create a colour palette that they feel reflects their own part of the world. There are some wonderful results, on page 28. And for sheer courage, you have to commend the owners of the purple kitchen mentioned earlier and the owners of the yellow house in our garden feature on page 84. They not only chose the adventurous route with amazing results, but chose to play out their colour fantasies on the two areas of the house you cant easily or cheaply paint over if you dont like it. Whether its an experimental feature wall, or a whole exteriorlive a little.
