Resene Colour Home Award article

William Boyd’s heritage Helensville home began life as a bank and became a residential building 20 years ago. The artist and hairdresser had always wanted to live somewhere out of the ordinary, and when he saw the 1920s art deco building on the Kaipara River up for sale last year, he pounced. William’s first project was tackling the outside, which was painted a uniform two-tone grey. “It looked like a battleship,” he remembers. William brought Old Bank, as he affectionately calls it, back to life using the Resene Heritage colour range. Resene Blue Night for the main colour, Resene Merino for the white, and the bold Resene Bright Red for the doors and dots, receiving a unanimous thumbs-up from the locals!

Resene tips & tricks:

Colour is a clever way features on the exterior of your home and to highlight key make them more eye-catching. Use your bold colour in a higher gloss finish, such as Resene Enamacryl, for maximum impact.
