Create this stylish two-tone splatter vase.

Resene art with Mark Rayner - Project 96

Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: Ceramic vase, clean cloth, paint stirrer, paintbrush, Resene Blackboard Paint, Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer, Resene testpot of Resene Bright Spark, sandpaper.

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat tinted to Resene Half Alabaster.

Other ideas: For a monochrome effect, paint the vase with Resene Alabaster and lightly splatter with Resene All Black.

Step 1

Lightly sand the ceramic vase to ‘key’ the surface.
Step 2
Step two
Wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.
Step 3

Carefully stir the Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer.
Step 4

Apply one coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer to the vase and allow to dry.
Step 5 Step five
Carefully stir the Resene Blackboard Paint.
Step 6
Step six
Apply one coat of Resene Blackboard Paint to the vase and allow to dry.
Step 7
Step seven
Apply a second coat of Resene Blackboard Paint to the vase and allow to dry.
Step 8
Step eight
Lightly splatter the vase with Resene Bright Spark and allow to dry.
