Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 79

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Drawing pins (x2) , Paintbrushes (including artists’ brush), Piece of string, Polystyrene ball, Resene Art Action Quick Dry, Resene Testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene Delta, Resene House White and Resene Zeus

Top tip: If you want your planet to have a shiny look, paint it with one coat of Resene Art Action Glaze (gloss) once the paint has dried.

Here's another idea: This fiery hot planet was painted with Resene Pirate and Resene West Side.

Step 1

Paint the polystyrene ball with one coat of Resene Quick Dry, allowing two hours to dry.
Step 2

Paint the ball with one coat of Resene House White, allowing two hours to dry
Step 3
Step three
Paint in a few craters using Resene Delta.
Step 4
Step four
Before the paint has dried, paint in some shadows with Resene Zeus and a few highlights with Resene Alabaster, allowing the paint to mix together, as shown. Allow to dry for two hours before hanging your planet using the string and drawing pins. Out of this world!
