Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 24

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Book of colourful stickers, Laminated MDF clock, Paintbrushes, Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Fizz, Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer, Sandpaper

Top tip: Colourful sticker books are available from most book and craft shops.

Here's another idea: Create an instant artwork using testpots of Resene Wham and Resene Malibu and some dinosaur stickers.

Step 1

Step one
Carefully remove the clock batteries and lightly sand the clock face with the sandpaper, taking care not to damage the clock’s hands – you might need a grownup to help you with this bit.

Step 2

Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer to the clock face – make sure you don’t get any on the clock’s hands. Allow to dry.

Step 3

Step three
Paint the clock face with one coat of Resene Fizz – again be careful when painting around the clock’s hands. Allow to dry.

Step 4

Step four
Apply a second coat of Resene Fizz to the clock face. Allow to dry.

Step 5

Step five
Apply twelve large stickers around the clock face, as shown – make sure they’re in the same position as the original clock numbers.

Step 6

Step six
Apply smaller stickers around the centre of the clock face. Put the batteries back in the clock and set it to the right time.
