Resene FX Faux Rust Effect Basecoat
Resene Aquapel & Terracotta Sealer

Rubber gloves
Small plastic pot for some of the Resene FX Faux Rust Effect Activator
Terracotta pot

To get the look: Mark painted the background shed wall with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Tuna.

Other ideas: For a deeper rust effect colour, spray the Resene FX Faux Rust Effect with water approximately 12 hours after application.

How to make a rust effect pot

Rust effect pot - Step 1 Step one
Remove any labels from the terracotta pot.

Carefully stir the Resene Aquapel & Terracotta Sealer.

Apply a coat of Resene Aquapel & Terracotta Sealer to the inside and outside of the terracotta pot and allow to dry.

Carefully stir the Resene FX Faux Rust Effect Basecoat.

Apply one coat of Resene FX Faux Rust Effect Basecoat to the terracotta pot and allow to dry.

Apply a second coat of Resene FX Faux Rust Effect Basecoat to the terracotta pot.

Once the basecoat is tacky or touch dry, apply a coat of Resene FX Faux Rust Effect Activator to the terracotta pot, following manufacturer’s instructions. Allow to dry.

In the same way, apply a second coat of Resene FX Faux Rust Effect Activator to the terracotta pot, and allow to dry.
