Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 117

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Cardboard toilet roll tube, Paintbrushes, Polystyrene egg (these are available from most craft shops), PVA glue Scissors, Resene Art Action Quick Dry, Resene testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene Bonanza and Resene Nero

Top tip: You could also use the empty shell from a real boiled egg – just be careful not to crack it too much while scooping out the inside.

Here's another idea: This crafty egg man was painted with Resene testpots of Resene All Black, Resene Bright Red and Resene Vista White.

Carefully cut a 3cm section from the toilet roll tube and fix to the base of the polystyrene egg with PVA glue – you might need a grown up to help with this bit. Allow glue to dry.
Step 2
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the egg and cardboard base. Allow one hour to dry
Step 3
Step three
Apply two coats of Resene Bonanza, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 4
Step four
Paint in face details with Resene Alabaster and Resene Nero. Allow two hours to dry. That’s egg-tastic!
