Daisy vase

It’s easy to create this fabulous daisy vase from an old teapot and a few Resene testpots.

Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 110

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Clean cloth, Old ceramic teapot, Paintbrushes (including a small artists’ brush), Resene Multishield+ (gloss) (now Resene Concrete Clear), Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer, Resene testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene Broom and, and Resene Niagara, Sandpaper

Top tip: You can also make a vase in the same way using a plastic or glass teapot.

Here's another idea: This love heart vase was decorated using testpots of Resene Wild Thing and Resene Get Reddy.

Paint a Love heart pattern Another idea: Make a love heart vase

Step 1
Step one
Lightly sand the outside of the teapot with sandpaper and then wipe off any sanding dust with a clean cloth – this will help the paint to stick.
Step 2
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer to the outside of the teapot and allow to dry.
Step 3
Step three
Apply two coats of Resene Niagara to the outside of the teapot, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 4
Step four
Paint the centre of the daisy with two coats of Resene Broom and allow two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 5
Step five
Paint the daisy petals with two coats of Resene Alabaster. Again, allow two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 6
Step six
To make the teapot nice and shiny, apply one coat of Resene Multishield+ and allow to dry. How neat is that?
