Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 103

Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: Artists’ brushes, Clean cloth, Old paintbrush Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer, Resene testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene All Black, Resene Guardsman Red and Resene Wild Thing, Sandpaper

Top tip: If you want your brush head to have a particular coloured hair just dip the bristles into a testpot and allow to dry.

Here's another idea: This brush head was painted with Resene Alabaster, Resene Get Reddy, Resene Nero and Resene Sorbus.

Step 1
Step one
Lightly sand the paintbrush handle, as shown. Wipe off any sanding dust with a clean cloth.
Step 2
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer to the paintbrush handle and allow two hours to dry.
Step 3
Step three
Paint the paintbrush handle with two coats of Resene Wild Thing, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 4
Step four
Paint eyes and mouth with Resene Alabaster, Resene All Black and Resene Guardsman Red, and allow to dry. How cool!
