Green tiki sculpture

This cool green tiki sculpture would look great in any retro pad.

Resene art with Mark Rayner - Project 07

Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: 17mm plywood cut to the following dimensions:

Also required: Hammer, paintbrush, panel pins, PVA wood glue, Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Woodstock, Resene Multishield+ (now Resene Concrete Clear) Gloss, Resene Quick Dry Acrylic Primer Undercoat, sandpaper, wooden tiki mask.

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Havoc.

Other ideas: Try out a green metallic effect by using Resene Isobar or Resene Obelisk.

Step 1
Step one
Assemble the four pieces of plywood to form a low plinth. Fix together with PVA and panel pins.

Lightly sand the edges to remove any splinters.
Step 3

Prime the plinth with one coat of Resene Quick Dry Acrylic Primer Undercoat. Allow to dry.
Step 4

Prime the tiki mask with one coat of Resene Quick Dry Acrylic Primer Undercoat. Allow to dry.

Paint the plinth with two coats of Resene Woodstock. Allow to dry.
Step 6

Paint the tiki mask with two coats of Resene Woodstock. Allow to dry.
Step 7
Step seven
Paint the mask and plinth with two coats of Resene Multishield+ (now Resene Concrete Clear) Gloss. Allow to dry.
Step 8
Step eight
Glue the tiki mask to the plinth with PVA glue. Allow to dry.
