Kristine Daly

Kristine worked in the display department at Beaths as a window dresser and ticketwriter, painting the showcards to hang around the store and in the windows.

Artist - xx

She learnt how to china paint, building up the pictures with layers of paint after each firing, and to paint realistic paintings with detail. Eg flowers and birds.

Inspiration comes from art galleries, books, photos and the outdoor environment.

Kristine painted the centenary Anzac cross for the Darfield community which still gets used every Anzac Day. She also painted the Sheffield Community Hall sign, and is on the Malvern Community Arts.

A friend introduced Kristine to using Resene paint and that is all she uses now, loving the way they flow and mix well together. Her palette includes a range of colours, such as favourites Resene Limeade, Resene Bush, Resene Gondwana, Resene Paua, Resene Broom and many more. Kristine liked to use paint effects with a little paint to wash over areas to highlight them.
