Christian Griffiths

Christian began as graffiti artist in 1994. Developing skills and broadening his arts knowledge he now often works in mixed media and paints a variety of subjects but it was the pro-active approach of graffiti that drew him into the art world.  Christian Griffiths (aka Sauce) is a mural artist based in Murwillumbah. Since his beginnings, Sauce has combined the abstract lettering of graffiti art and realistic landscape painting. This unique blend of subject matter merges the themes of urban and natural environments which indicates the tension between the two elements. For the past decade Sauce has been the owner/operator of Aerograffix, where he applies his skills as a mural artist and workshop facilitator.  He draws inspiration from the natural environment and urban art.

His work has drawn much attention and he was a finalist in the Sheffield International Mural Fest 2010, winner 2011 and finalist 2012. He also won King of Canvas 2008.

Christian describes his favourite Resene colours as "Black, white & all of the colours in-between!"
