Instructions

Step 1 Step one
Sand, prime and paint the garden stakes.

Step 2 Step two
This dahlia support has two adjustable hoops, for the bottom hoop, make three marks for drilling from the bottom at 500mm, 550mm and 600mm. For the top hoop, make three marks for drilling at 1100mm, 1150mm and 1200mm. Drill the holes with a 6mm drill bit (slightly thicker than the wire).

Step 3 Step three
Cut the wire into two 1300mm lengths (or more if you plan on having more hoops) with a cut-off disc or hacksaw, then grind off the sharp edges with a grinding disc or hand file.

Step 4 Step four
With the vice, hammer and fold a right angle 20mm in from one end of the wire, then another right angle folding the wire in on itself at 50mm. Then just repeat this step for any additional hoops.

Step 5 Step five
Thread the long end of the wire through the lower hole, pull it all the way through.

Step 5a Step five (a)
Lock the bent section into the middle hole, curve the long section of wire back around on itself to form a hoop, push the hoop end through the top hole to lock it in place. Repeat this step any additional hoops.
