How to make a dinosaur garden

As seen in kiwigardener

You will need

Top tip:  Rejuvenate old dinosaur toys that have faded with Resene testpots to help them keep looking good in the harsh sunlight.

Instructions

How to build a dinosaur garden:

Step 1 Step one
Ask an adult to help you apply one coat of Resene Aquapel & Terracotta Sealer to the inside and outside of the terracotta pot and allow the sealer to dry.

Step 2 Step two
Paint the outside of the pot and the top rim using a testpot of Resene Dizzy Lizzy. Also paint a band about 5cm or so deep on the inside of the pot below the rim (as shown in the photo). Allow the paint to dry.

Step 3 Step three
Apply a second coat of Resene Dizzy Lizzy to the pot and allow the paint to dry.

Step 4 Step four
Using a small trowel, carefully put some potting mix into the pot to about 5cm below the rim – you might need an adult to help you with this step.

Step 5 Step five
Carefully plant your small succulent plants into the potting mix – again, you might want an adult to help you here.

Step 6 Step six
Carefully put a 2cm layer of gravel on top of the potting mix (as shown in the photo), taking care not to disturb the plants.

Step 7 Step seven
Position your dinosaurs on top of the gravel to create your own Jurassic Park.
