Pallet and paling playhouse

Mark Rayner creates a fun childrens' playhouse using discarded wood.

Place the plywood pallet in position, as shown. If positioning on bare soil or lawn, ensure the pallet is stable and level.

Fix two pallets in position to form two adjacent walls, as shown, using 50mm and 75mm nails.

Partly deconstruct a pallet to form a wall with two windows and fix this into position using 50mm and 75mm nails.

Cut a pallet in half, as shown.

Fix this half pallet in position, as shown, fixing with 50mm and 75mm nails.

Fix two fence palings along the top edges of the ‘window’ wall and ‘door’ wall using 50mm nails. (Cut palings to fit, if necessary.)

Step 7
Fix the eight remaining fence palings in position using 50mm nails to form the roof.

Sand any rough edges with coarse sandpaper.

Carefully stir the Resene Waterborne Woodsman before applying two coats to the playhouse, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Fix the two tea towels in position, as shown, using 20mm flat head nails. Cut up the centre of each with scissors and tie back to form curtains.
