Create a colourful version of this classic game with a little bit of help from Resene.
Resene Toys and Games with Mark Rayner – Project 42
Difficulty level: Moderate
To get the look: Mark painted the background tabletop with Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Groovy.
Other ideas: For a pink and red combination use a combination of Resene Cabaret and Resene Poppy.
Step one
Measure, mark and cut the MDF into a 400mm square.
Step two
Measure and mark out a 6 x 6 grid of 40mm squares in the centre of the piece of MDF, as shown.
Step three
Drill a pattern of 18mm holes on the grid, as shown, approximately 10mm deep.
Step four
Sand the piece of MDF and wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.
Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the MDF board and allow to dry.
Step six
Paint the inside of each of the drilled holes with two coats of Resene Curious Blue, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step seven
Apply one coat of Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene California to the rest of the board and allow to dry.
Step eight
Apply a second coat of Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene California to the board and allow to dry. Place the marbles in the configuration shown in the main picture.
