It’s easy to create this fun chalkboard table with a little bit of help from Resene.

How to paint a fun chalkboard table

Resene Toys and Games with Mark Rayner - Project 33

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Clean cloth, paint stirrers, paintbrush, Resene Chalkboard Paint tinted to Resene Moana, Resene Quick Dry, sandpaper, small paint tray and roller and wooden coffee table.

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Anise.

Other ideas: For a bright pink effect paint the table with Resene Chalkboard Paint tinted to Resene Cabaret.

Step one
Lightly sand the entire coffee table, sanding in the direction of the grain.

Step two
Wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.

Step three
Carefully stir the Resene Quick Dry.

Step four
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the underside and legs of the table.

Step five
Turn the table the right way up and apply a coat of Quick Dry to the top of the table. Allow to dry.

Step six
Carefully stir the Resene Chalkboard Paint tinted to Resene Moana.

Step seven
Paint the underside and legs of the table with one coat of Resene Chalkboard Paint tinted to Resene Moana.

Step eight
Using the small roller and tray, apply one coat of Resene Chalkboard Paint tinted to Moana to the top of the table and allow to dry. Repeat steps seven and eight.
