Home at the beach

The Ayton-Coulter family have slowly renovated their bach at Waikanae beach. Being their home and with the renovations being done around three children it has been an enjoyable, if sometimes challenging, job.

The walls and ceiling in the kitchen, dining and living room are finished in Resene Tea, which creates a soft warm elegance in a simple home. Sue also whitewashed the floor in the dining room with the leftover paint.

For interest she added Resene Tree Frog on the kitchen splashback and windowsill and painted the two lights in the dining room Resene Pohutukawa. The front step and the splashback in their ensuite is the same lovely red. The doors and window frames throughout their home are painted in Resene Makara. The bathroom is Resene Sea Fog, with a Resene Daredevil splashback, which they love. The office is Resene Koromiko, the boys’ room is Resene Chardonnay and for their daughter she mixed the remaining three colours, and got a fabulous mustard shade, which is lovely.
