Designed for adults

Amy's project was to create a family bathroom with an adult look in their newly purchased home.

The project started by choosing a burnished wood vanity so the colours of the space had to complement it. Amy created a feature wall with Vision wallpaper in blue and silver, then purchased the Resene The Range 2010 fandeck to pick a complementary paint colour. She matched it nicely with Resene Triple Pearl Lusta but decided to tone it down slightly and went with Resene Double Pearl Lusta tinted into Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen Kitchen & Bathroom instead.

They had an existing wooden floor so decided to strip back the old flooring and check out its condition. Amy wasn't happy with the colour or the chips that had been left in the wood from lifting the flooring so she investigated the Resene Colorwood range as an option for refurbishing it. She chose Resene Dark Ebony, which has turned out to be outstanding topcoated with Resene Polythane, which has given an amazing lustre. The colour has given the floor an antique look that manages to make the chips look rustic.

The overall look is very opulent, much like a top hotel, but it has proven itself to stand up to the children also.
