Wot a dragRepainting a small double bedroom, Juliet was keen to create a drag paint effect on the walls. Seldom seen in New Zealand, dragging is popular in the UK especially over uneven walls. The room was originally coated in oil-based enamel and over time the walls had become increasingly uneven. To create the dragging effect, Juliet used Resene English Sage as a basecoat over the wall, then applied a mix of Resene Soft Apple and Resene Paint Effects Medium dragged by brush as the topcoat to create the effect.
Having successfully created the dragging effect in soft tones of green, Juliet created a second dragging effect using a mix of Resene Sea Fog and Resene Paint Effects Medium dragged over the same basecoat of Resene English Sage. The room scheme was completed with old chintz still in perfect condition cleverly reinvented as curtains. Two months in the planning and deciding of the colour and the effect, it took just four days over a period of a week to finish the painting side of the job. A confident effects creator, Juliet mixed Resene Pearl Shimmer with leftover Resene Paint Effects Medium, wiping the mix across the ceiling of another room to soften the flat ceiling paint. In Juliet's words it "Looks amazing." Inspiration gallery 2003
