Art with heart
The Rahurahu family's home project is just starting. The previous homeowners were heavy smokers so the walls need to be fully stripped and prepared to help eliminate the lingering odour.

The first bedroom is painted with a deep blue Resene Outer Space feature wall and Resene Chicago window frames.

Once done, the feature wall didn't seem quite right - Adrina's husband suggested she let their son draw on it. Adrina thought she might tackle the project herself, despite not being an artist and only having a small variety of testpots and dried up children's paint to work with, and asked him what he would like - envisaging something simple. Dolphins, palm trees etc was what he replied.

Adrina got a dolphin ornament and placed a lamp behind it reflecting its shadow onto the wall then sketched around it - the rest she made up as she went along.

They're delighted with the end result, which just goes to show you don't have to be an artist or a painter to get the finish you want.
