Funky chick

Bedroom Photo Fit for a four year old was the requirement for this bedroom makeover.

The Anderson family purchased their 1980s brick and tile home two and a half years ago in original condition with apricot, cream and pink tones throughout, completed with cream embossed wallpaper and peach curtains in Greer's room.

Step one of the decorating project was removing the wallpaper, then skim coating and sealing the walls.

Keen to warm up the room as it is on the cold side of the house furnishings were chosen from a Treehouse catalogue and used as the base for the colour scheme. A few testpots later, the yellow dots on the pink fabric were matched with Resene Half Witch Haze, a soft yellow to ensure it didn't overpower the fabrics.

Greer selected some pink funky chick accessories to coordinate with the room and these were teamed with Resene Lipstick to paint the homemade furniture and the frames of the prints on her walls.
