Brighter please

The original plan was to paint Ryan's room a muted tone planned for the rest of the house, but husband Matt insisted on a brighter shade. Sarah spotted Resene Sushi in the September 2003 edition of Your Home & Garden before she was even pregnant and decided that this would be a good colour whether she had a girl or boy.

Unfortunately this room, as with all the other rooms in their house, has ceilings, skirting boards and window surrounds painted a very pale mint! Sarah tried to save money by using a cheap ceiling paint but this backfired because after three coats the mint colour was still visible and she ended up recoating it in two coats of Resene Bianca to get a quality finish. Resene Bianca was the ideal ceiling selection as it is goes well with any wall colour.

Accessories in the room are a fourth hand couch with couch cover from Farmers, a cot from Kraka design (Kiwaka Mo design), a secondhand dresser/change table also painted in Resene Bianca and a hand crocheted blanket crocheted by Sarah's mum as a tribute to her late mother.
